United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc will host a special edition of its quarterly Business Series this week, spotlighting a new generation of African women who are shaping industries, leading businesses and redefining success.
The event, themed “Gen W: The Evolved Woman,” is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 12 March at the UBA House in Lagos as part of activities marking Women’s Month. It will bring together accomplished female leaders and professionals to share insights on leadership, ambition and growth in today’s evolving business landscape.
According to the bank, the session will also be streamed live across its digital platforms, allowing participants to join virtually or attend in person through prior registration.
Speakers to share experiences
The event will feature a lineup of female entrepreneurs and media professionals, including Joycee Awosika, founder of ORÍKÌ Group; Tomike Adeoye, media personality and entrepreneur; Olufunke Davies, founder of Fine Funky; and award-winning broadcaster Ayo Mario-Ese.
Media personality and actor Tobi Bakre will moderate the session.
According to UBA, the panellists will share their personal journeys and perspectives on building resilient businesses, embracing authenticity and redefining leadership as women in a rapidly changing global environment.
Bank reiterates commitment to women’s empowerment
Speaking ahead of the event, UBA’s Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, said the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting women and recognising their role in driving economic growth and innovation across Africa.
“The modern African woman is evolving in remarkable ways. She is bold, visionary and intentional about the spaces she occupies,” she said, adding that the Business Series provides a platform for meaningful conversations around leadership, ambition and opportunity.
According to her, the special edition aims to deepen conversations about women’s empowerment by highlighting a generation of women who are not only seeking opportunities but actively creating them.
She added that the discussion will focus on how women are shaping industries, building businesses and defining success on their own terms while navigating increasingly dynamic professional environments.
